We are delighted to announce that Glass Ceilings® is sponsoring Mossley Hill Girls Under 15 football team this season.
Grassroots sport plays a hugely important role in inclusion but is chronically underfunded in this country. All youth sport should be well-funded as it is an investment in society’s future.
Girls football tends to receive less funding than boys, and this is seen in other sports too.
Getting involved in sport of any kind gives young people opportunities to develop skills such as teamwork and leadership, dedication and discipline, and to recognise their talents and feel a sense of achievement. All of which builds self-confidence and resilience which will serve them well throughout their lives.
CEO, Laura Evans, said: “Since I was the girls’ age myself, it has always frustrated me when gender barriers, and any biases, are put in place in sports. I spend a lot of my spare time watching sports. As I don’t have children myself, I have found other ways of supporting youth development in various capacities for over a decade now, including as a school governor. I’m super proud to see our logo on their away kits and to be playing a small part in helping out.”
