Our CEO Laura Evans has delivered two sessions for our clients, Nationwide Building Society recently.
In a session on ‘Burnout’, Laura provided advice on spotting the signs, reducing risks, and de-stigmatising burnout in work. Finance is one of the professions with very high rates of burnout and mental health-related absences so we are delighted to be supporting a leading business in this sector dedicating a whole week to raising awareness and supporting employee wellbeing.
Laura also led a session on ‘Allyship in Action’ for the NBS Pride Network. The role of Allies in creating inclusive workplaces is often overlooked. Laura has been an Ally to the LGBTQ+ community since childhood, when a primary school friend came out, and has actively supported LGBTQ+ colleagues throughout her career, including establishing corporate governance frameworks and culture change to make workplaces safe and inclusive for colleagues to bring their whole selves to work.
In her early career, Laura worked on development of the Equality Act 2010 and helped to introduce the (now) Disclosure and Barring Service’s alternative applications process for transgender applicants going through pre-employment criminal records checks.
Glass Ceilings remains committed to supporting organisations to create inclusive and safe working environments for all colleagues, and is delighted to support Nationwide with this important work.
