Marilyn Loden coined the phrase “glass ceiling” in 1978, to refer to barriers faced by women. A glass ceiling being something that should be easily broken but is unnecessarily harder for some to break through than others.
Our CEO, Laura Evans, explains:
“I’ve felt from a young age that not just women face a glass ceiling – there are so many people who face unnecessary barriers to growth, development, and opportunity. I therefore added an “s” to make it plural and represent all people, secured the registered trademark, et voila, Glass Ceilings Change Management was born!”
The other ‘why’ is even more important than our name – it is our mission, our purpose, our very reason for being, to highlight those barriers and help organisations and people to break them down.
