International Equal Pay Day 2024

International Equal Pay Day takes place on 18th September each year, representing long-term efforts towards achieving fairer and equal pay for work of equal value.

The global gender pay gap is estimated to be around 20%.

Gender equality and the empowerment of females in the workplace both remain affected by historical, structural inequities and power imbalances.

Although there have been many improvements, there remain fewer opportunities for females to progress in the same way as their male counterparts across many professions, industries, and sectors of the global economy.

Glass Ceilings® strives for genuine fairness and inclusion in employment, regardless of sex or gender identity (or any other factor – it’s why we were established in the first place). Pay should be set per role, not per person, and roles of equal skills and value should receive the same pay and rewards.

Our work-life inclusion policies provide equal pay and time off for paternity and maternity leave, beyond the statutory minima for both, which we believe is fairer to both genders and for same sex couples.

We advise all our clients in accordance with these principles.

This not only breaks through equal pay issues on grounds of gender, but addresses other systemic barriers and imbalances too.
