We are absolutely delighted that our CEO, Laura Evans, has been appointed Chair of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce’s Business Policy Committee.
Reflecting on this news, Laura commented:
“It felt a bit of a full circle moment as I first chaired a policy board way back in 2008 and have spent much of the last 18 years involved in policy and governance boards in some form or another, whether regulatory compliance and enforcement, developing and implementing legislation, health and safety, or people and organisational development.
I’m taking over the Business Policy Committee role from the brilliant Alison Lobb, who established the committee several years ago. Clearly impossible to follow in those footsteps (not helped in part by my having size 3 feet!) but I’ve promised Alison I will do my best to be a safe pair of hands.
Great to meet the other Business Policy Committee members, some who I already know and others who are new connections. There was so much collective expertise, experience, and talent around the table and I know those who couldn’t attend yesterday are equally talented.
In what are continuing to be challenging times for businesses, I’m really looking forward to working together as a committee to support Chief Executive Paul Cherpeau, his team and the Chamber Board on strategic policy. This includes engaging with members, feeding into wider Chambers of Commerce policy work streams where it will be most impactful, and building partnerships with other key organisations for the benefit of members and wider business community within the city region.”
Congratulations, Laura!
